The nutritional solution of pathologies of the oral cavity and upper respiratory system
In dogs symptoms related to adverse reactions to food are very common and may concern a number of apparatuses and systems: the gastro-intestinal,otological, nervous, urinary and respiratory systems, and the skin. However, recent studies have evidenced how the oral cavity is one of the apparatuses frequently involved in chronic forms or relapses of the following: tartar, gingivitis,stomatitis, laryngitis, bronchitis and especially halitosis.These pathologies are frustrating for the following reasons: poor pharmaceutical response, continuous relapses after dental cleaning, owner dissatisfaction, difficulty in topical or systemic treatments, unpleasantness in being near an animal with severe halitosis. Nutrition represents a valid instrument for the management of pathologies of the oral cavity through its nutrient profile and the shape of kibble. It plays an important role in the integrity of oral and gum tissue, bone resistance and in the prevention and management of dental and oral pathologies.Based on these considerations, the FORZA10 R&D Center created a line of nutraceutical products dedicated to pathologies of the oral cavity. The neologism “nutraceutical” is a combination of nutrition and pharmaceutical. “Nutraceuticals” is a new branch of medicine that aims in studying the effect of specific natural substances in both the prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases.Because of their characteristics, nutraceutical foods could become the missing link between natural medicine and pharmacology. Nutraceuticals are also capable of solving, simply and definitely,the objectively difficult administration of oral,parenteral or spot on medicine.
