Clinical efficacy of the ECHO ACTIVE diet in dogs suffering from bilateral chronic otitis

The purpose of this clinical evaluation was to evaluate the possible role of the ECHO ACTIVE diet, specific for relieving the main clinical symptoms of chronic bilateral external otitis (auditory canal occlusion, erythema, amount of mucus and odor), in 30 adult dogs. For a period of 90 days 30 dogs of different breeds (average age 6 years and average weight 32 kg; 53.3% male, 46.6% female) with evident clinical symptoms attributable to chronic bilateral otitis were randomly and equally divided in 2 groups: the first was treated for 7 days with conventional drug therapy and fed a standard diet while the second, after the same period of drug treatment, was fed the specific ECHO ACTIVE diet.
